FREEZED-DRIED PINEAPPLE HOA MOONFOOD
Just about 10 years ago, coming to Muong Cha, even on days of harvesting corn and cassava, hunger and poverty still persisted because there was nothing around but weeds. People, in addition to growing maize, cassava, and rice, only knew how to go to the mountains to get food for the day.
In recent years, Muong Cha is known for having the largest pineapple growing area in Dien Bien province. Due to its high economic efficiency and suitability for local soil conditions, pineapple has been identified by the district as a key fruit tree for economic development in sloping land, replacing inefficient crops to help people reduce poverty rapidly and sustainably.
Here, there are about 200ha of pineapple grown under VietGAP standard with an output of more than 4,000 tons/year. But similar to many other agricultural products in multiple other districts and provinces across the country, Muong Cha pineapple also cannot escape devaluation due to difficulties in finding output consumption markets.
Pineapple is mostly sold by farmers in Muong Cha district and Dien Bien Phu city, or bought by traders. The prices are very cheap and not fair to the effort and money that farmers have to spend. In addition to pineapple, there are many other agricultural products such as banana, mango, jackfruit, etc. that are also facing similar difficulties.
To overcome the above difficulties, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh – Director of Moonfood Dien Bien Company – boldly applied high technology in processing to take advantage of local strengths and specialties to produce high value agricultural products, especially freeze-dried pineapple products.
Thanks to that, pineapple retains its shape, nutrients, and flavor. Biting a piece of dried pineapple, you will feel the crisp sour taste, the aroma… just like other pieces of fresh pineapple. This is the difference of Moonfood dried pineapple products compared to other products on the market.
